for those touring by kayak and canoe, and details paddling routes at Mallows Bay, Friendship Farm Park, Mattawoman Creek, and the Port Tobacco River. The guide also includes information about natural, historic, and cultural resources that can be found near the trails.
The Water Trail guide, one of a series of Maryland water trail maps developed by DNR, contributes to the creation of a statewide network of water trails that DNR has been developing for the past decade. The guide was produced through a cooperative partnership among the Boating Services Unit of DNR, the Parks & Grounds Division of the Charles County Public Facilities Department, and Charles County Economic Development & Tourism Department.
The new guide is free of charge and may be downloaded from the Charles County Tourism Web site at www.thenationsbackyard.com, or call (800) 766-3386 to request a mailed copy.
