NORTH BEACH, Md. — A North Beach woman is facing drug-related charges after Calvert County Sheriff’s Office detectives allegedly discovered suspected cocaine residue and drug paraphernalia while executing a search warrant connected to an ongoing narcotics investigation, according to court records.
Court records show Jennifer Lynn Soper-Carter, 44, of North Beach, was charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance and possession of drug paraphernalia following a June 10, 2026, search conducted by the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office Drug Enforcement Unit.
According to charging documents, members of the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office Drug Enforcement Unit were conducting a follow-up investigation tied to a separate narcotics case involving Adolfo Lopez-Olguin when they obtained a search and seizure warrant for a residence in North Beach.
Investigators executed the warrant at approximately 11 p.m. and made contact with Soper-Carter inside the residence. According to the statement of probable cause, detectives identified a bedroom that Soper-Carter confirmed was hers and conducted a search of the room.
During the search, authorities allegedly recovered two cut straws containing white powder residue and two black plastic “tear-off” packets containing white powder residue. Investigators stated that, based on their training and experience, tear-off packets are commonly used to store cocaine for personal consumption.
Court records further indicate detectives located a small handgun inside the bedroom that was registered to Soper-Carter. The firearm was not listed as part of the criminal charges.
According to charging documents, Soper-Carter was advised of her Miranda rights and agreed to speak with investigators. Initially, she denied using cocaine but later told detectives that she attended parties hosted by Lopez-Olguin and acknowledged that she had used cocaine approximately two weeks earlier. She also allegedly told investigators that the substance had been supplied by Lopez-Olguin.
Following the investigation, Soper-Carter was arrested and transported to the Calvert County Detention Center without incident. She was later released on her own recognizance pending court proceedings.
According to court records, Soper-Carter was charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Both charges are misdemeanors under Maryland law, and court records indicate probable cause was found for each offense.
A trial is scheduled for July 27, 2026 in Calvert District Court.
