The charges are the result of an investigation that began on April 13, 2011 at 11:20 p.m. Charles County Sheriffโs officers responded to the 2000 block of Amberleaf Place in Waldorf for the reported robbery. On April 14 at 2:45 a.m., just a few hours after the robbery, patrol officers responding to a call for disorderly conduct in the 3000 block of Heathcote Road encountered Melvin Wayne Moton, 24, of La Plata, Terrence Andrew Dyson, Jr., 19, of Pomfret and Delandre Bernard Rosier, 26, of Indian Head. The officers discovered Moton was wanted for an unrelated incident and placed him under arrest. They also discovered he, Dyson and Rosier were in possession of evidence from the Amberleaf Place robbery. Moton, Dyson and Rosier were subsequently charged with robbery and transported to the Charles County Detention Center.ย
As the investigation progressed, detectives in the Major Crimes Unit identified Keyan Mitchell as another suspect involved in the robbery. The detectives obtained a warrant for Mitchellโs arrest but they were unable to immediately locate him.
On Jan. 24 at 1:30 p.m., after receiving information regarding his possible whereabouts, detectives found Mitchell at the McDonaldโs located at 3300 Leonardtown Road.ย Det. P. Tona investigated the robbery.
