Official Press Release from Charles County Government:
On June 23, The Board of County Commissioners of Charles County exercised its option to terminate the County Administrator’s at-will employment with the County, in accordance with the County Administrator’s Terms of Appointment. Thus, effective July 3, 2009, Mr. Paul Comfort will no longer serve as County Administrator.
Comfort has served as County Administrator since May 21, 2007. Comfort’s dedicated service to the citizens of Charles County is greatly appreciated and the Commissioners wish him well in his future endeavors. Assistant to the County Administrator Roy E. Hancock will serve as Acting County Administrator until a successor is chosen by the commissioners.
