The Calvert County Sheriff’s Office received information on Oct. 18 that an address listed on the Maryland State Sexual Offender Registry of child sexual offender Paul Leroy Chew, was vacant.
An investigation of the matter revealed that the information was correct and that Chew’s residence on Elsegunda Lane in Lusby was vacated on Oct. 5.
The custodian of the Sexual Offender Registry for Calvert County, Corporal Joe Hollinger, applied for charges against Chew for failure to make notification of an address change within seven days, and an arrest warrant was issued.
On Nov. 15, Chew arrived at the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office for his annual registration and was placed under arrest.
He was later released on $10,0000.00 bond.
Police say Chew was charged with the same offense in 2004.
