ANNAPOLIS, Md. — There are plenty of restaurants to choose from in Annapolis, and there’s something for everyone. Personally, we’re on the hunt for new regular spots with great views to enjoy meals with family and friends.
That criteria led The BayNet to the Severn Inn, a rustic spot situated on the Severn River right across from the Naval Academy Bridge. This waterfront restaurant was perfect for a lunch with a view, and we expect dinner and brunch are just as good.
Located at 1993 Baltimore Annapolis Blvd., The Severn Inn has been open in some form since the 1970s. The inn has a tasty, seasonal menu and panoramic views, making it a longtime local favorite despite changes over the years. The restaurant also has private dining options and is hosting an America 250 celebration with a buffet — and a view of the fireworks on the river.
Here’s what you should know before booking your table at the Severn Inn.

The Menu At The Severn Inn
The lunch menu had plenty of options without being overwhelming, including sandwiches, salads, soups and seafood. We heard from regulars that the crab cakes and crab soup were show-stealers, and the seafood options were super reasonably priced.
The swordfish was tempting (as was the rest of the menu), but we got salads and enjoyed the fresh corn and tomatoes, and all the flavors were light and well-balanced. You can also add proteins to make it more filling.
The restaurant does also have a kids menu, and we saw a few kids enjoying a meal out, too.

The Views At The Severn Inn
This is really the main draw. Seriously, even the parking lot has good views. It’s a near-panoramic view of the Severn River and definitely the best view of the Naval Academy we’ve found in our quest for waterfront dining options.
The outside deck has two levels and is perfect for cooler days when you want to hear the gentle waves lapping against the dock. It’s expansive and looked to have more tables than inside, so it might be your best bet for when the restaurant gets crowded on weekends or evenings, or for events.
But on a hot day, rest assured that virtually every seat in the restaurant, whether it’s in the main dining room or at the bar, has a water view.

What to Know About The Severn Inn
The Severn Inn is open Wednesday and Thursday from noon to 8 p.m., Friday and Saturday from noon to 9 p.m., and Sunday from 2:30 to 8 p.m. They also serve a brunch buffet from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Sundays.
The restaurant serves beer, wine and liquor, and offers pre-reserved buffet brunches for events. This year, the inn hosted its annual Blue Angels buffet event and will host a July 4 buffet event.
You can also access the restaurant by boat. There are several boat slips outside, and boaters are advised to follow all the regular rules for the Severn River.
