SOLOMONS, MD — The crowd was smiling, screaming and swinging to the beat as Chris Young stole hearts and took the stage last night at the first concert of the Waterside concert series at the PNC Waterside Pavilion in Solomons on June 4.

His sultry baritone voice carried out over the crowds on Saturday night, weaving tales of little dresses and candlelit blue eyes. Most of the crowd sang back to him, as though lost in the moment. Young managed to connect with fans as soon as he sauntered on stage, melting hearts along the way.

Southern Maryland’s Sam Grow and opening act William Michael Morgan got the party started before Chris Young took the stage. Young closed the show with a bang, performing hit songs such as ‘Gettin’ You Home,’ ‘Voices,’ ‘Tomorrow,’ and ‘I’m Comin’ Over.’

With four Academy of Country Music Award nominations recognizing his recently released chart-topping album, ‘I’m Comin’ Over,’ Young has released seven chart topping singles, five albums, and eleven Gold and Platinum certifications.

Young has been called an international ambassador for his genre, and has developed a reputation as a talented songwriter. He is frequently called out for being such a southern gentleman and was declared one of country music’s ‘sexiest men’ by People and Nash Country Weekly magazines.

Proceeds from the Waterside Music Series support the education and preservation efforts of the Calvert Marine Museum.
