CALVERT COUNTY, Md. – Community Harvest Network, formerly known as End Hunger in Calvert County, is excited to announce its name change, reflecting the organization’s expanded mission to combat food insecurity across Southern Maryland. The new name underscores the organization’s commitment to fostering community partnerships and providing sustainable solutions to hunger.

To celebrate this new chapter, Community Harvest Network invites the community to the 14th Annual Dragon Boat Festival on Saturday, June 14, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the North Beach Boardwalk. This family-friendly event features dragon boat races, live entertainment, local food and craft vendors, and activities for all ages. Proceeds from the festival support the organization’s mission to provide nutritious food to those in need throughout Southern Maryland.

“The Dragon Boat Festival has been a cornerstone event for our organization, bringing together individuals and businesses to support our cause,” said Brian Martin, CEO of Community Harvest Network. “We are thrilled to continue this tradition under our new name, which better reflects our broader impact and vision for the future.” The festival will feature various team races, including the coveted Grand Champion Trophy and the #GiveWhereYouLive Award, recognizing the team that raises the most funds for the organization. Teams such as Town of Chesapeake Beach, Team PattiHoop, Catching Up to Jesus, Sonder Studios, Lion chasers, SkipJack CrossFit, The Beckman Group, Knead to Win, The Corksmen, Unauthorized Brewing, Ctrl + Alt + Defeat, American Chestnut Land Trust-ACLT, TRWGW Patti’s Paddlers and The Barn at Pleasant Acres are among the participants.
