Leonardtown, MD— On April 4, St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Austin Schultz responded to Lawrence Avenue in Leonardtown for the reported assault.

When Schultz arrived on the scene he made contact with the victim who advised that she and “her live-in boyfriend of 11 years were in a verbal altercation about her using the computer when the defendant wanted her to come to bed,” according to charging documents.

The defendant was identified as Bryan E. Tournay, 53, of Leonardtown. During the argument the victim advised that Tournay flipped her out of the computer chair causing her knee to strike the computer table.

The victim also advised that Tournay then proceeded to hit her in the left side of her face. According to charging documents, “Schultz observed redness on the left side of the victim’s face which she (victim) claims is a result of being struck by Tournay.”
