The Silver Hill Lions Club is holding their annual demolition derby series at Potomac Motor Speedway in Budds Creek. If you missed it last Saturday, the event returns this Saturday night for a final run.
On Sept. 8, The Bay Net teamed up with three drivers, each in different classes, to capture in-car videos during the derby.
In the video above, the camera starts out with Bob Boyd, of Lusby.
Boyd, who drives the yellow Buick # 66, won first place for Best Paint Job (see slideshow below), and placed second place overall in the 4-cylinder class.
Boyd is a derby veteran who admits once you get the fever for this sport it’s hard to break. He’s been running the annual derby at Potomac Motor Speedway for the last five years, and previously off and on at other regional derbies for “quite a while.”
His Buick fared well and he’s now tuning her up for another run this Saturday night, for the second leg of the Silver Hill Lions Club-sponsored event.
