On April 15, Deputy Scott Ruest responded to a residence on Great Mills Road in Lexington Park for a reported assault.  Deputy Reust learned John J. Viland was involved in an argument with his wife which escalated to a physical confrontation causing visible signs of injury to the victim/wife. Viland was arrested and charged with second degree assault.
