At 6:20 p.m. Thursday, volunteer firefighters and rescue squad members were dispatched to a crash on Flat Iron Road in Great Mills.
The driver called 911. He said he struck a pole and wires are down, and he is not hurt.
Police and firefighters arrived within minutes to find a SMECO pole knocked over and a single vehicle off the road. The lone occupant of the vehicle signed to refuse medical treatment.
