On February 13, St. Mary’s County Deputy M. Boyer responded to a disorderly conduct complaint at Canopy Liquors located in Lexington Park.ย 

Investigation revealed Tercell Ernerst Thompson, 30 of Pomfret,ย was inside of the business yelling profanity at the store clerk because she refused to sell him alcohol.ย  The clerk believed Thompson to be intoxicated.ย  Several patrons were inside of the business observing Thompsonโ€™s disorderly behavior.ย  Deputy Boyer attempted to interview Thompson who continued to yell profanity at the deputy drawing further attention to his disorderly behavior.ย 

Thompson assumed an aggressive stance with the deputy and refused to cease his disorderly conduct.ย  Deputy Boyer could smell a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage on Thompsonโ€™s breath and person.ย  Thompson speech was slurred as he yelled.ย  Deputy Boyer arrested Thompson.ย  As Thompson was being transported to the detention center he spit on the deputyโ€™s jacket.ย 

Thompson was charged with disorderly conduct, public intoxication and destruction of property.
