On May 29, at 7:48 p.m., Tpr. N. E. Gresko attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a black Buick in the area of Maryland Route 238 and Mill Point Road in Chaptico.
Upon the activation of police emergency equipment, the driver turned off the roadway into a private driveway and fled the scene. Additional units assisted in locating the male subject that fled the scene.
Philip Rhodie Quade, III, 37 of Chaptico, was located in a shed in the surrounding area and arrested for Fleeing and Eluding. Subsequently, Quade was determined to have been operating while under the influence of alcohol and also had possession of marijuana.
Quade was transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center and charged accordingly. He will be held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.
