WALDORF, Md. — With hiring underway and construction progressing, Eggspectation Waldorf is getting closer to opening at Fairway Village after receiving two approvals from the Charles County Board of License Commissioners on June 11, including approval for an outdoor patio and additional time to complete permitting and construction.
The restaurant, located at 4575 Fairway Village near the intersection of Billingsley Road and St. Charles Parkway, received an extension through Sept. 9 to obtain permits and pick up its previously approved liquor license.
Attorney David Martinez, representing Waldorf Eatery LLC, told board members the project experienced delays after the developer took longer than anticipated to deliver the space within the new shopping center. Construction and permitting are continuing as the restaurant prepares to open.
Owner Mr. Desai told the board the project remains on track.
“Hopefully by July, we’ll be finished with all construction,” Desai said.
In addition to the license extension, the board unanimously approved an expansion of the restaurant’s licensed premises to include an outdoor patio area. Plans presented during the hearing showed the patio will be located near the front of the restaurant and accessible through the interior of the building. Fencing, gates and decorative planters will help define the outdoor dining space, while restaurant staff will monitor the area.
Board members asked questions about customer access, security and how the patio would be separated from public walkways. Restaurant representatives said patrons will enter through the main restaurant entrance before being seated on the patio, and emergency exit gates will be available within the outdoor area.
The approvals represent another step forward for Fairway Village, a growing commercial development that continues to attract new restaurants, retail businesses and services to the Billingsley Road and St. Charles Parkway corridor.

Known for its all-day breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner offerings, Eggspectation operates several locations throughout Maryland and the surrounding region.
While an official opening date has not been announced, the June 11 hearing provided one of the latest public updates on the restaurant’s progress as construction and permitting continue.
