The filing deadline for the 2014 November General Election was Tuesday, February 25 at 9 p.m. Following is a statement from St. Maryโs County Republican Central Committee Chair Mary Burke-Russell regarding this important upcoming electionโฆ
โI am pleased that St. Maryโs County has a very active Republican presence in the 2014 mid-term election! We are strong in numbers, and thatโs exciting! I urge voters to get ready to do their research now that the filing deadline has passed. From the office of MD Governor, to seats on the local Central Committee, you have a choice in the June Primary to select your candidates. However, if you are registered as an unaffiliated voter, you will have no voice regarding candidate choices for the General Election in November 2014. I encourage you to contact the St. Maryโs County Board of Elections at (301)475-7844, Ext. 1100 to change your party affiliation; you have until June 3 at 9 p.m. to re-register. Please visit the website atwww.smcrep.org for the St. Maryโs County Republican Central Committeeโs local activities, volunteering opportunities, and candidate updates. In addition, be sure to continue to follow Ellynne en Pointe each Wednesday on the Baynet.com.โโฆMary Burke-Russell, Chair, SMC RCC
