BYE-BYE BACHARACH, HELLO USA (VIA FRANKFURT AIRPORT)

The day for my departure from Europe had arrived; reluctantly, I would haveย to say goodbye,ย auf weidersehen, to the charming town of Bacharach on the Rhine River in Germany. I was even more reluctant to have to bid farewell to Gary and Becky Crosby, our excellent hosts at the Bei-der-Post Hotel, Bar, and Restaurant (www.pension-bacharach.de, orย info@pension-bacharach.de). On this, our last day, Becky once again prepared our favorite breakfast (and her specialty): Toasted Soldiers ( 3-minute eggs served in an egg cup; rap the top section with a spoon and remove the top, then dip your bread into the yolk.
