Leonardtown, MD — An annual festival had a new name this year but many of the activities from previous years remained. The Chesapeake Bay Waterfowl Arts Show, formerly known as the Potomac River Waterfowl Festival, was held Friday and Saturday at the St. Maryโ€™s County Fairgrounds south of Leonardtown.

The heart of the show is waterfowl art, including decoys, both new and antique, paintings and even birds made from trash. But the festival was much more with wildfowl and game tasting, cooking demonstrations, wine tasting, and retriever dog demonstrations.

Among the carvers in attendance was this yearโ€™s feature artist Burkey Boggs, a Maryland decoy carver and president of the Southern Maryland Carousel Group.
The show is a major fundraiser for Community Foundation of Southern Maryland, which provides vital grants to a wide array of community organizations. The grants address education, health and wellness, youth initiatives, the environment and culture,
