The Calvert Marine Museum presents Exploring in the Wake of Capt. John Smith by John Page Williams.
Williams’s presentation is the first in the Chesapeake Water Trail Lecture Series. The presentation will be held, Thursday, Jan. 15 at 7:30 p.m. and everyone is admitted FREE.
John Page Williams is the Senior Naturalist for the Chesapeake Bay Foundation. In this capacity, he represented CBF in the development of the Captain John Smith Chesapeake National Historic Water Trail. Williams has also authored several books and articles about the bay including Chesapeake: Exploring the Water Trail of Captain John Smith and Exploring the Chesapeake in Small Boats.
Learn about strategies, itineraries, and tips for exploring Capt. Smithโs Trail, especially up the Chesapeake Bay and its tributaries. Touching on vessel choices, safety, natural history and human history this talk will be interesting for anyone who wants to explore Americaโs first water trail. Admission is free.
