A house fire in Lusby on Sunday afternoon left a family homeless. Volunteer firefighters were dispatched at 11:43 a.m. to Big Bear Lane.
A total of 60 firefighters responded from Solomonโs, St. Leonard, Hollywood and Bay District fire houses, and it took an hour to put the fire under control.
The homeโs owner, Stacey Stomp, discovered the fire that started with unattended food on the stove.
Maryland Deputy State Fire Marshal Jeffrey Frye reports the blaze caused $80,000 in damage to the house and contents.
Frye reports the family was displaced, and it unknown if they are receiving assistance.
