Fire Discovered At Vacant House In Waldorf Leads To $100,000 Loss

WALDORF, Md. – The Office of the State Fire Marshal is investigating a fire incident at a vacant home in Waldorf on March 11, 2024.

A passer-by discovered the fire at approximately 4:04 p.m. at 3135 Leonardtown Road, resulting in an estimated loss of $100,000 to the structure. 40 firefighters were able to control the fire within 20 minutes. No reported injuries have been reported.

The dwelling did not have a smoke alarm. The State Fire Marshal reported the fire originated in the interior of the dwelling. However, the preliminary cause of the fire is still under investigation.
