Port Tobacco, MD— On Feb.25 at 12:45 a.m., the La Plata Volunteer Fire Department responded to a working two story single family house fire at Chedworth Place in Port Tobacco.
Fire Marshall John Nelson determined, “the cause of the fire was accidental as a result of an electrical malfunction in the basement.”
It took 10 minutes and 40 firefighters to control this house fire. The estimated loss of the structure was $150,000, and the contents that were lost were estimated to be $75,000.
There were no injuries as a result of this fire.
