LA PLATA, Md. — Firefighters quickly extinguished a detached shed fire Sunday afternoon in the 5400 block of Washington Avenue.
Crews were dispatched around 4:31 p.m. Jan. 4, 2026, and arrived to find a shed involved. The fire was brought under control in a short time, preventing any extension to nearby structures.
No injuries were reported. Firefighters remained on scene for just over an hour before all units returned to service by 5:43 p.m.
The cause of the fire was not immediately released.
