WALDORF, Md. – On June 16, 2021, at approximately 7:00 p.m., Waldorf Volunteers and surrounding departments were called to “smoke coming from the building” at 44 Industrial Park Drive.

County Deputy Fire Chief 17A (Herbert) arrives a minute later confirming smoke from the building at the roof line. As fire suppression units from Waldorf 3/12 arrived, they advanced hose lines into the structure encountered heavy smoke conditions throughout the building on the first and second floors.

While searching the building crews immediately located the fire in a small room located at the top of the stairs and heavy smoke damage throughout. Fire was controlled in ten minutes of dispatch, building was ventilated, overhaul.  

The crews quick attack kept fire from extending to other businesses. 57 Fire/EMS personnel were on scene including mutual aid from PGFD. No injuries have been reported.

The State Fire Marshal’s Office responded to the scene to conducted an investigation.
