CLEMENTS, Md. — Fire crews are battling a large barn fire Thursday morning in Clements that has prompted a tanker task force response as the structure remains fully involved.
The fire was reported at approximately 10:20 a.m. on Feb. 12, 2026, in the 40350 block of Big Chestnut Road.
Initial reports indicate a 100-foot by 40-foot barn was fully engulfed in flames when units arrived on the scene. Due to the size of the structure and limited access to hydrants in the rural area, a tanker task force was requested to shuttle water to the scene.
Multiple fire and EMS units are responding, and crews are working to contain the blaze and prevent it from spreading to nearby structures.
Big Chestnut Road at Budd Creek Road is shut down as crews continue working at the scene, and motorists are urged to avoid the area.
Additional information will be released as it becomes available.
