PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. — Flag Ponds Nature Park, located at 1525 Flag Ponds Parkway, will be fully open during the week of Calvert County Public Schools’ spring break.

The park will be open from March 27 to April 6, seven days a week. Officials hope to help provide additional recreational opportunities for residents and visitors during this time and invite everyone to enjoy the park’s scenic Bay beach, wooded trails, and a new visitor center.

Standard admission fees apply during the spring break opening hours — admission for county residents is $5 year-round, and $5 for non-residents from November to March. Admission for non-residents is $20 from April to October.

Spring break hours of operation are Monday through Friday: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.; and Saturday and Sunday: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The last entry to the park and access to the beach end one hour before official closing time.

The park is open year-round but reduces the hours of operation from Memorial Day to Labor Day. It’s a popular spot for beachgoers, hikers, birdwatchers, and more.

Most of the county’s other parks are open year-round to support outdoor recreation and community activities. Calvert Cliffs State Park, Kings Landing Park, Wind Farm Recreation and Nature Park, Battle Creek Cypress Swamp Sanctuary, Anne Marie Sculpture Gardens, and more are open year-round with reduced winter hours.

Visit the Calvert County website to learn more about Flag Ponds Nature Park and its hours.
