thomas johnson bridge flagging operations

Solomons, MD –ย The Maryland Department of Transportationโ€™s State Highway Administration (SHA) will close one of two lanes and will alternate traffic using a flagging operation on the Thomas Johnson Bridge between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. June 14, 15 and 16.ย  The overnight lane closures are necessary as crews repair sections of the concrete deck.

This work is weather-dependent and may be rescheduled in the event of rain or high winds.

SHA asks for motoristsโ€™ patience during the flagging operation.ย  Each driver needs to actively modify his or her driving style to help prevent crashes. Stay alert โ€“ look for reduced speed limits, narrow driving lanes and highway workers. Slow down and don’t follow too closely. Safer Driving. Safer Work Zones. For everyone!
