Mechanicsville, MD— On May 6, St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Jason Smith responded to Jacqueline Street in Mechanicsville for the report of a disturbance.ย
When Smith arrived on the scene of the incident, he made contact with the victim who Smith observed to have pink icing and cake on his shirt and face. Smith asked the victim what was going on, while Smith was asking the victimย question he heard, “screaming and moaning from the back room,” according to charging documents.ย
Smith then made contact with the suspect identified as Annette A. Carr, 56, of Mechanicsville. Carr was lying on a bed when Smith asked what was going on, and Carr advised, “She and her brother were in an altercation,” according to charging documents.ย
Carr advised that her brother had been threatening her, and she threw a cake which struck a wall and him as it splattered. Carr advised there had been no injuries. Smith then talked to the victim who advised that Carr was intoxicated and has been upset with him.ย
According to charging documents, “Carr then grabbed a deep flyer lid and threw it at the victim striking him in the chest.” The victim also advised that Carr then picked up a cake and threw it at him striking him in the torso.ย
Smith observed icing all over the victim’sย shirt, chest, face and pants. While speaking to the victim, Carr exited her room and threatened the victim in front of Smith. Carr informed Smith, “that if I (Smith) was not going to take her (Carr) to jail, she was going to beat up the victim,” according to charging documents.ย
Carr was arrested, was transported to the St. Maryโs County Detention Center and charged with second-degree assault. Carr at this time does not have a scheduled court date. Carr faces a maximum jail sentence of 10 years and/or a maximumย fine of $2,500.
