Former first lady Barbara Bush dies at age 92

Washington, DC – Former First Lady Barbara Bush has died, family members confirmed Tuesday evening, April 17. The New York native wed future U.S. President George H.W. Bush in January of 1945. George and Barbara Bush had the longest marriage–73 years–of any of the nation’s First Couples.

In addition to her husband, Barbara Bush is survived by five of their six children. The children include another former president, George W. Bush.
