Prince Frederick, MD – A grand jury handed down four separate indictments against four men charged with intent to distribute drugs in Calvert County, court records stated. The indictments were handed down Aug. 21 in Calvert County Circuit Court. Those indicted were Delonte Terrance Rawlings, 34 of Lusby; Desmond Lamar Sloan, 31 of Lusby; George Edward O’Dell Jr., 27 of Chesapeake Beach; and Michael William Thomas, 18 of Prince Frederick.
According to court documents, Rawlings was indicted on six counts including two counts of possession with intent to distribute narcotics. That charge is a felony. The incident for which Rawlings was charged occurred June 27. His next court hearing is tentatively scheduled for Sept. 19.
Sloan is facing four counts, including one count each of controlled dangerous substance (CDS) possession with intent to distribute narcotics and having a firearm during a drug trafficking crime. Both charges are felonies. Sloan’s offenses are alleged to have occurred July 25. His initial hearing in Circuit Court is tentatively set for Sept. 11.
Court documents indicate O’Dell is charged with two misdemeanor counts connected to an incident that occurred July 10. O’Dell was indicted on charges of attempted possession with intent to distribute and attempted CDS distribution other. His next hearing is currently scheduled for Sept. 19.
Thomas is facing a five-count indictment. The charges include one felony—CDS possession with intent to distribute; three misdemeanors—conspiracy CDS distribution other, CDS possession marijuana and CDS possession paraphernalia; and a traffic violation—using a handheld phone while driving. Thomas’ offenses are alleged to have occurred Aug. 8 and 10. His next hearing is tentatively scheduled for Sept. 11.
