On the morning of July 6, Charles County Sheriff’s officers responded to the 4700 block of Strauss Avenue in Indian Head after receiving information that an outstanding warranted suspect was at the location.
Avery Dexter Posey, 44, of Indian Head, was wanted for failing to appear in court for traffic related offenses.
When officers arrived, the occupants of the house said Posey was not there. Officers observed Posey inside the house, made entry, and arrested him without incident.
One of the residents, Eric Stephen Adams, 34, of Indian Head, was charged with hindering a police investigation. Charges are pending against another resident.
Posey was remanded to the Charles County Detention Center. Officer M. Bourgeois investigated.
