On Jan. 26 at 1:20 a.m., Calvert County DFC Christopher Childress responded to Houlihan’s Bar and Grill at 135 Dares Beach Road in Prince Frederick, for a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot. 

Upon arrival, DFC Childress saw Sgt. Roscoe Jones had a white male at gunpoint.  The male, later identified as Rodney Wayne Irons, 48 of Lusby, who was wearing a black leather vest displaying a “Hell’s Angels” motorcycle club patch. 

Irons stated to Sgt. Jones “You’re going to have to shoot me…just shoot me”.  Irons pulled away as officers attempted to handcuff him.  DFC Childress deployed his agency Taser.  After a brief struggle officers were able to get Irons handcuffed. 

He was charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance, Diazepam, and carrying a dangerous and concealed weapon (a buck folding knife and a Winchester knife).  He was released on $15,000 bond on Jan. 26 at 3:55 p.m.
