On Jan. 26 at 1:20 a.m., Calvert County DFC Christopher Childress responded to Houlihanโ€™s Bar and Grill at 135 Dares Beach Road in Prince Frederick, for a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot.ย 

Upon arrival, DFC Childress saw Sgt. Roscoe Jones had a white male at gunpoint.ย  The male, later identified as Rodney Wayne Irons, 48 of Lusby, who was wearing a black leather vest displaying a โ€œHell’s Angelsโ€ motorcycle club patch.ย 

Irons stated to Sgt. Jones โ€œYouโ€™re going to have to shoot meโ€ฆjust shoot meโ€.ย  Irons pulled away as officers attempted to handcuff him.ย  DFC Childress deployed his agency Taser.ย  After a brief struggle officers were able to get Irons handcuffed.ย 

He was charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance, Diazepam, and carrying a dangerous and concealed weapon (a buck folding knife and a Winchester knife).ย  He was released on $15,000 bond on Jan. 26 at 3:55 p.m.
