MECHANICSVILLE, Md. — Summerseat Farm in Mechanicsville will host a Fall Artisan and Vendor Market this Saturday, Nov. 1, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The farm is located at 26655 Three Notch Road, Mechanicsville, and the event is rain or shine.
The farm invites the public to connect with dozens of local vendors selling handmade items, including clothes, jewelry, arts and crafts, baked goods and much more. The market is excited to include a new vendor for the Nov. 1 event, The Pretty Me Jewelry Bar, a family-run local jewelry maker that creates custom and designed pieces. The event will also have food and drink vendors so market-goers can spend as much time as they like shopping and exploring what local makers and entrepreneurs have to offer.
Summerseat is a working farm with crops and animals — its nonprofit arm owns and operates the property to “preserve the rural character, history, and natural resources of the farm and prevent it from development.” It’s volunteer-run and is the site of numerous markets and public events throughout the year, as well as a sought-after location for private events.
According to a Facebook post from the farm, people can also bring leftover pumpkins to donate to the animals who live there. Many farm animals, like cows, chickens and goats, enjoy pumpkins as an occasional treat — which is a much better way to get rid of your jack-o’-lantern than tossing it in the trash.
For updates about the market, you can visit Summerseat Farm online or on Facebook. Interested vendors can use this vendor link.
