COLTONS POINT, Md. — Voters looking to talk local issues over hot oysters will have the chance later this month when county commissioner candidate Greg Kolarik hosts a meet-and-greet at The Potomac Gardens.

The event is scheduled for Jan. 17 from 1 to 3 p.m. and will feature an oyster scald, a traditional Southern Maryland gathering. Organizers say Kolarik will be on hand to shuck, chat and listen as residents share concerns about taxes, transparency and county government.

Kolarik is running for commissioner president in St. Mary’s County and is using the informal setting to encourage open conversation with voters in a relaxed atmosphere. A cash bar will be available during the event.

The gathering is open to the public and is intended as an opportunity for residents to meet the candidate face to face outside the usual campaign forum.

The event will take place at The Potomac Gardens, 20254 Colton Point Rd, Coltons Point, MD 20626.
