
ย Chesapeake Beach, MD – A fire Friday evening, Jan. 27 in Calvert County caused $200,000 damage to a residence, state investigators reported. According to the Maryland State Fire Marshalโs Office, the two-alarm blaze occurred around 6:30 p.m. on St. Andrews Drive in Chesapeake Beach.
โThe Calvert 911 Center received multiple calls related to a house fire on St. Andrews Drive,โ a deputy state fire marshalโs report stated. โThe fire department discovered fire coming from the attached deck area of the house. The extended time to control the fire was due to two large propane tanks, venting, from underneath the deck. No one was home at the time of the fire.โ
Fifty firefighters brought the flames under control in 90 minutes. No injuries were reported. The fire marshalโs report indicated a Cherokee camper on the property was also damaged.
โThe owner is being assisted by family and friends,โ the reported stated. The owner/occupant was identified by the fire marshalโs office as Matthew Gleason.
The fire remains under investigation and anyone with information that might aid investigators is asked to contact the Maryland State Fire Marshalโs Southern Regional Office at 443-550-6832.

Chesapeake Beach, MD – Reports from the scene of a house fire on St. Andrews Drive indicate crews appear to have the blaze under control. There are no reports of injuries at this time. The Maryland State Fire Marshal’s Office is en route to conduct an investigation. Baltimore Gas and Electric has a crew on the way to check electrical utilities.ย
Motorists should continue to avoid the area until further notice.
Chesapeake Beach, MD – At 7:30 p.m. fire and rescue authorities in Calvert County reported a house fire on St. Andrews Drive in Chesapeake Beach. There are reports the structure is fully involved.
Crews from Anne Arundel and Prince George’s counties are also headed to the blaze.
Avoid the area until further notice.
