BENEDICT, Md. – The Mark Frisco Team of Century 21 New Millenium presented the 6th annual “Egg Hunt 4 Hunger,” a benefit for local non-profit Farming 4 Hunger, on Saturday, March 30th. Just in time for the holiday, the event went from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at Serenity Farms where egg hunters came out by the hundreds!
With an excess of 500 tickets sold, there were raffles, silent auctions, and egg hunts every 30 minutes for youngsters to gather as many eggs as they could into their baskets. It was a family affair as many generations of lineage waited in line to take a picture with the one and only Easter Bunny!
A DJ spun upbeat tunes while minglers enjoyed Rita’s and concessions from the farm while playing cornhole. Children and adults alike got to pet and feed pigs while a rooster cheered from the sidelines.
The Mark Frisco Team of Century 21 New Millenium paired with Farming 4 Hunger because it’s a special cause whose mission they truly believe in. Mark Frisco and Bernie Fowler Jr., the owner of Farming 4 Hunger, go back years in friendship. Rose Fowler kept everyone happy and organized, as always, with an easy smile and inviting words.
“It’s definitely a success. And yes, it’s an Easter egg hunt, but Farming 4 Hunger is a sense of bringing everyone out together as a community,” Fowler Jr. told The BayNet.
“They learn the work that we do and what it’s like to give to others. So, it’s really not about the Easter eggs, it’s about getting kids out on a farm and introducing them to this environment; it’s something to get excited about! Then, when they’re here, they can ask more questions about what we do and how they can be a part of it.”
Farming 4 Hunger’s mission statement: Food is the vessel through which we serve others, creating unity in the community. The founders of Farming 4 Hunger planted seeds from their hearts that continue to blossom across generations, populations, and communities. Those seeds flourished because of their hard work, unwavering passion, and philanthropic nature. “All are fed at the farm.”
