Lusby, MD – Huntingtown traveled down to Patuxent and had one thought in mind. Win and weโ€™re in.

They endured the opening strike of the Panthers, and struck back fast and swift. After seeing Terrell Gross rise up and throw down a one handed transition slam dunk, they countered with a 9-0 run to pull ahead 9-2. They rode that momentum swing into the end of the first quarter, and led 15-8 at the end of 1.

The second quarter saw a scoring explosion by both teams with the Hurricanes outscoring Patuxent 19-16. Huntingtown held the lead 34-24 going into the half. At halftime, Huntingtown was led in scoring by the Easton twins. Bryan had 12, and Brandon had 9. For Patuxent, Darus Maddox led them in scoring with 8, while Terrell gross had 7.

In the second half, Huntingtown began to pull away from Patuxent. They had several runs that lasted long, and got the Panthers furiously attempting to rally. But every time the Panthers got close, Huntingtown would set off on another run that would put it out of reach.

At the end of the third, Huntingtown guard Davaughn Reid ran to the bottom row of Huntingtown fans ย and pumped his arms up to make the crowd get louder. They responded, drowning out the sound of the Patuxent student section and band. In the fourth quarter, Huntingtown built up a lead of 19 at its largest, and held on to win 68-50.
In his final game at Patuxent, Terrell Gross led the Panthers in scoring with 13 points. Darus Maddox finished with 12. Huntingtown was led by the Easton twins. Bryan finished with 24, and Brandon had 17 points.
