Wanted Lexington Park Man Arrested At Bus Stop, Suspected Crack Cocaine Found

LEXINGTON PARK, Md. — A Lexington Park man wanted by multiple agencies faces additional drug charges after a deputy allegedly found suspected crack cocaine, a glass smoking device and a digital scale during his arrest at a bus stop.

The incident occurred Thursday, Aug. 21, 2026, near the intersection of Liberty Street and Pegg Road in Lexington Park.

Charging documents state a St. Mary’s County sheriff’s deputy recognized Elvis Ray Brien, 35, of Lexington Park, from a prior investigation and knew he was wanted by multiple agencies. A records check reportedly confirmed active cases through the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office, Calvert County Sheriff’s Office and Maryland State Police.

Brien was taken into custody, and during a search incident to arrest, deputies allegedly found several loose pieces of a white rock-like substance in his pants pockets suspected to be crack cocaine.

Investigators also reported finding a glass smoking device containing burnt residue suspected to be crack cocaine in an underlayer of Brien’s shorts.

A black digital scale containing white powder residue suspected to be cocaine was also allegedly recovered from another pocket.

Brien was transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center.

He was charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance other than cannabis and two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia.

Court records show Brien was released Aug. 21 on a $1,000 unsecured personal bond in the new drug case.

A trial is scheduled for Oct. 5, 2026, in St. Mary’s District Court.
