
The Life of John (Butch) Francis Hebb
John Francis Hebb otherwise known as (Butch) peacefully transitioned September 30th, 2024, at Medstar St. Mary’s Hospital in Leonardtown Maryland. He was born March 4th, 1950, in Compton, Maryland to the late John Steven and Eliza Catherine Hebb.
Butch received his education through the St Mary’s County School System. He had several places of employment, his most memorable was his first job at Leonard Hall Naval Academy School, then B and B Maintenance as a side job, and lastly First National Bank of Leonardtown (now PNC Bank) where he retired after 40 plus years.
Beyond his professional life, he had a great time with friends and family. Another passion of his was cars, whether it was buying several new cars off the show room floor or putting together model cars. He enjoyed going to the racetrack at Budds Creek and riding his motorcycle to King George Virginia to see car shows and motorcycle jamborees. He also enjoyed a good game of shuffleboard and pool with his Backroad Inn buddies. Daddy lived an active and enjoyable life.
Butch leaves to cherish his memory 3 children, Cheryl Hebb-Nelson, Michael Hebb Sr (Kate), and Ronald (Bay) Hebb. He is survived by 6 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephew, cousins, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his loving parents John and Catherine Hebb, sisters; Margaret Young (Jo Boy Swales), and Dorothy Barnes, his beloved son Calvin Berry, son-in-law Bernard Nelson, and 2 great-grandchildren; Daveon and Layla Nelson.
