WALDORF, Md. — A Waldorf woman was issued a criminal summons after court documents allege she refused to pay the full price for a hair service at a Waldorf business.
Nemiah Miles of Waldorf was charged with theft less than $100 following the June 15, 2026, incident.
According to charging documents, the incident occurred at a business in the 3200 block of Robert S. Crain Highway in Waldorf.
The complainant wrote in an application for statement of charges that Miles had an appointment for a hairstyle described as “Fulani Braids” and had requested a specific design ahead of the appointment.
The complainant wrote that Miles sent two Instagram reels showing the desired add-ons and style details before booking the appointment.
According to the application, the dispute involved an added charge for the requested braid design. The complainant wrote that Miles booked the appointment without selecting the “Small Fulani” add-on, but the specific design she requested required additional time and changed the final price.
The complainant wrote that the total would have been $275 without the add-on, but the requested design brought the total to $325. Miles allegedly refused to pay the full amount and had someone send $300 by phone, leaving $25 unpaid.
The complainant stated the incident was captured on camera and that the unpaid amount involved hair services valued at less than $100.
Court records show a criminal summons was issued June 16.
A preliminary inquiry is set for Aug. 3 in Charles County District Court.
