PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. — Calvert County is putting a twist on the classic Easter Egg Hunt this year and encouraging residents to search local parks and community centers for the opportunity to win prizes.

Calvert County Parks and Recreation (CCPR) has hidden 20 Easter Egg Hunt signs around the county. Participants can find the signs, scan the QR code on the signs, and complete the log by taking a picture with the sign.

CCPR’s official list of places to look for signs includes:

  • Northeast Community Center
  • Kellam’s Field
  • North Beach Nature Center
  • Dunkirk District Park
  • Ward Farm Recreation & Nature Park
  • Mt. Hope Community Center
  • Biscoe Gray Heritage Farm
  • Gatewood Preserve
  • Hallowing Point Park
  • Harriet E. Brown Community Center
  • Grays Road Dog Park
  • King Memorial Park
  • Battle Creek Nature Park
  • Broome’s Island
  • Flag Ponds Nature Park
  • Chesapeake Hills Golf Course
  • Southern Community Center
  • Cove Point Park
  • Solomons Town Center Park
  • Solomons Boardwalk

The hunt is ongoing from March 29 to April 6. All participants will be entered in a prize drawing, even if you don’t manage to find all the signs. This is a great way to get outside and start enjoying Calvert County’s parks this spring.

Residents can also kick off the week by attending the annual Spring Fling at Hallowing Point Park on Sunday, March 29, from 12:30 to 3 p.m. There will be games and activities, a petting zoo, face painting, photos with the Easter Bunny, local vendors, food trucks and more.
