CHESAPEAKE BEACH, Md. — Anyone interested in learning more about health and wellness and contributing to a great cause can join the community this Saturday, Aug. 8, at the Uplift Calvert Wellness Festival.
The festival will take place from 9 a.m. to noon at the Kellam’s Field Complex in Chesapeake Beach, located at 3825 Gordon Stinnett Ave.
The festival is a “collaborative community event” hosted by the Town of Chesapeake Beach and the Twin Beach Community Health Coalition. The goal is to bring together residents, health professionals, local organizations and wellness advocates for a day dedicated to healthy living. It’s designed to connect residents with health resources and professionals in a fun and family-friendly environment.
Activities will include interactive health and wellness vendors, community resource organizations, fitness and workout demonstrations, hands-on wellness classes and activities, and additional family-friendly activities.
Or, in other words, “Come get active, discover local resources, connect with your community, and Uplift Calvert!” according to the Chesapeake Beach Facebook page.
Additionally, attendees will get to witness the Red, White, & Warrior Challenge, a Ninja Warrior-style obstacle course competition for two-person teams. The proceeds from the challenge are donated through the American Legion Stallings-Williams Post 206 to support local veterans services.
The festival is still accepting vendors. Interested businesses, organizations or community groups can fill out the form to apply.
