Fishing is truly superb as rockfish, spanish mackerel, bluefish and trout are plentiful for trollers and lure casters.
Croaker, spot, white perch, puppy drum and flounder are in the creeks and rivers for bottom fishermen in great profusion
I used beetle spins in a local creek Sunday evening on the high tide and caught white perch, puppy drum, croaker (Yes, they will take a spinner bait), and rockfish. The perch were fine, with some up to 10 inches.
A good friend told of launching out of St. Jerome’s Creek Saturday in the early afternoon and catching 19 croaker between 16 and 17 inches approximately half way from Pt.
