LEXINGTON PARK, Md. — Yoga mats, mindful movement and tiny paws will come together this month as Hype House Cycle & Fitness hosts a special Kitten Yoga event benefiting a local animal rescue organization.

The class will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 15, at Hype House Cycle & Fitness, located at 21515 Great Mills Road in Lexington Park.

Hype House is partnering with the Animal Rescue & Outreach Organization, commonly known as AROO, to offer participants a relaxing yoga session surrounded by playful rescue kittens. The event is designed to combine fitness, mindfulness and animal companionship while raising awareness and financial support for animals in need.

A Yoga Class With A Playful Twist

During the class, kittens will be free to explore the room, interact with participants and potentially make themselves comfortable on a yoga mat or two.

The class is open to participants of all fitness and experience levels. Admission is $25 per person, and a portion of the proceeds will support AROO’s work to rescue, rehabilitate and find homes for animals in the community.

Participants are encouraged to bring their own yoga mats.

Kittens Will Be Available For Adoption

Every kitten attending the event will also be available for adoption, giving participants an opportunity to meet a potential new family member in a relaxed and playful environment.

The adoption fee is $75 and will be paid directly to AROO. Adoption fees help the organization continue providing care and placement services for rescued animals.

Organizers hope the event will offer more than an enjoyable morning of movement and kitten cuddles. It could also help several animals take the next step toward permanent homes.

Space is limited, and organizers expect the class to fill quickly. Those interested in attending are encouraged to reserve their spots in advance through Hype House Cycle & Fitness.

Supporting AROO’s Rescue Mission

The Animal Rescue & Outreach Organization, known as AROO, is dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating and rehoming animals in need while promoting education, advocacy and responsible pet ownership. Through adoption efforts and community outreach, the organization works to give vulnerable animals a second chance and connect them with safe, loving homes. Proceeds from the Kitten Yoga event and adoption fees will help AROO continue that mission throughout the community.
