Waldorf, MD – Last Friday, Sept. 21 La Plata traveled to Westlake hoping to defeat their in-county foes for the first time in at least 14 years. The Warriors were unable to move the ball consistently on the Wolverines, resulting in a blowout loss 29-0.

Neither team has posted stats from the contest, but Westlake dictated the game on the ground and through the air. The Wolverines moved the ball at will in the second half, and some play from backup sophomore quarterback Jeremiah Maxwell lead to the team’s 29 points.

Westlake’s defense impeded just about every attempt La Plata made to move the ball, completely negating the run game and forcing turnovers.

Following the loss, La Plata fell to (1-3). The Warriors return home this week to face the Lackey Chargers (2-2).

Westlake improved to 2-2 and travels to Great Mills (0-4). The Hornets were a few minutes away from upsetting undefeated Northern last week but lost by one point.
