The St. Mary’s County Bureau of Criminal Investigations is an investigative team comprised of Detectives from the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office and the Maryland State Police, Leonardtown Barrack. The unit was established on July 1, 2003 and is based in Leonardtown, Maryland.
On May 6, 2011 at 2:25 A.M. police units responded to the Dash-In on Point Lookout Road in Leonardtown, Maryland for the report of an armed robbery. The investigation revealed a male subject entered the business armed with a dark in color handgun, approached the clerk and demanded money from the register. The clerk complied and the subject exited the business on foot after obtaining an undisclosed amount of U.S. currency and cigarettes. The suspect is described as male, unknown age, wearing a black in color face mask, gray hooded sweatshirt, black pants and carrying a dark in color book bag.
