There is a teacher at Middle Creek Middle School in Lusby Maryland who has, at the hand of students, suffered gross disrespect and documented assaults. The perpetrators get little in the way of effective punishment as evidenced by the repeated attacks on their teacher. The latest incident involved a repeat offender who rides the bus bringing a case of chemical reaction stink bombs to class in his backpack. One was set off in the classroom and there was no administrative action taken by the school against the student to support the teacher.
I am asking how does Calvert County expect to continue to have an outstanding educational system when this kind of behavior is tolerated? Why is the safety of our teachers not a top priority. Is it not bullying when a teacher is the target?
My kids are not yet in middle school, but I will move to a different county if this is considered acceptable behavior.
