INDIAN HEAD, Md. – A 22-year-old man was injured early Saturday morning in an accidental stabbing at a residence in Indian Head.
According to officials, Charles County Sheriff’s Office and county EMS units were dispatched at 2:13 a.m. on June 27, to the 2900 block of Checker Flag Place after a report that a man had stabbed himself. Dispatchers advised responding units that the man had accidentally punctured his shoulder and that a tourniquet had been applied prior to their arrival. Access to the patient was reported through the rear of the home, under a deck, with the patient located in the basement.
After EMS crews enter the scene and reached the patient paramedics determined the man did not require advanced life support.
The patient was transported to Charles Regional Medical Center in stable condition. The incident was completed without complications, and the case remains classified as an accidental injury.
