Busy shopping center St. Maryโs Square, in Lexington Park, continued its makeover with the demolition of the vacant Buffalo Wings and Beer building Wednesday afternoon. The restaurant on Great Mills Road has been empty for quite some time and is considered by many an eyesore to the area.
Community Development Corporation President/CEO Robin Finnacom was on hand to see the structure come down. Once the debris is cleared, a new building and business will take its spot. Finnacom said permits for a new AutoZone location were in hand and said she expects the Square to put new signage up soon.
The face of the Lexington Park community is changing rapidly with the Great Mills Road Streetscape Project underway, the removal of blighted buildings and improvements to existing businesses.
