On December 10, 2011, at approximately 0200, Deputy Potter, conducted a welfare check on a vehicle parked on the side of the
Three Notch Road, Lexington Park, Maryland. Deputy Potter approached the vehicle and observed the driver holding a suspected marijuana cigarette. When the driver saw Deputy Potter, the driver put the vehicle in drive and fled the area. Deputy Potter pursued the vehicle and a short time later, the driver stopped and fled on foot. After a short foot chase Deputy Potter apprehended the subject who was identified as John Francis Stewart, 54, Lexington Park, Maryland. Deputy Potter located suspected marijuana inside Stewart’s vehicle. Stewart was arrested and charged with Possession of CDS.
